Getting Here
- From Izmir Airport (ADB) The IZBAN commuter train connects directly to Selçuk. Journey takes approx 1 hour.
- By Bus (Dolmuş) Frequent local buses run between Kuşadası and Selçuk every 15–20 minutes.
- By Taxi From Selçuk town centre, a taxi to the main gate takes about 5 minutes.
Opening Hours
- Summer Season 08:00 – 19:30 (April to October). Best for sunset photography.
- Winter Season 08:30 – 17:30 (November to March). Less crowded, cooler climate.
- Open daily Ephesus Ancient City is open every day of the year.
What to Bring
- Footwear Comfortable walking shoes are essential – surfaces are uneven ancient marble.
- Sun Protection There is very little shade in the ancient city. Bring hats, water, and SPF.
- Water Bring at least 1.5 litres per person, especially in summer months.

The site opens at 08:00 and the first two hours are the quietest. Late afternoon light is ideal for photography.

Skip the often long queues at the entrance by booking tickets in advance. Especially recommended during peak season.
